Betty G. Marcus

Betty G. Marcus, age 87, of Amsterdam passed away Friday evening Aug. 24, 2012, in her home.

Born Jan. 24, 1925, in East Springfield, she was a daughter of the late Elzie and Gladys Stine Jackson.

Betty was a member of the Amsterdam Church of God.

She is survived by her son, David (Cheryl) Marcus of Jewett; two grandsons, Marc (Michelle) Marcus and David (Georgene) Marcus, both of Amsterdam; three granddaughters, Kim Marcus of Amsterdam, Joanie (Dean) Baker and Jessica Kinney, both of Carrollton; nine great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and the many caregivers over the years.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; a daughter, Brenda; a brother and a sister.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 29 at 11 a.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home in Amsterdam. Burial will follow in Bergholz Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home.   In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Dr., Ste. E., Green, OH 44685.
