Patricia Joan Seich
Patricia Joan Seich, age 78, passed away July 25, 2011.
She was born Dec. 31, 1932, to Stephen and Bertie Jagodzinski in Buffalo, NY. She was the second of three daughters, Teresa Duff of Buffalo, NY, Patricia and Sally Ann Smith, Raley, SC.
She graduated from Riverside High School, Class of 1950. She married her "pen pal" Michael in April 1952. They shared 59 years together and gave birth to five daughters and one son. They made their home in Canton, OH, before moving to Carroll County, where they lived 41 years. She attended Our Lady of Mercy Church in Carrollton. When the children were out of school, Pat obtained a position as a programmer at the Carroll County Group Home, then as activity director and social service director at Atwood Nursing Center, where she was employed for 17 years until the home closed.
She greatly enjoyed working closely with the residents, their families and local businesses and the Department of Human Services for the welfare and well being of the residents.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, playing bingo, slot machines, reading, and dinner out. She enjoyed staying home with good conversation with Mike, laughing with friends and family and visiting Buffalo to spend time with "Bertie."
She is survived by her husband, Mike; daughters, Paula (Troop) Bennett of Sargent, NE, Nancy (Ken) Burbick of Lisbon, Marcy (Mike) Owens of Mentor, Stephanie Seich (Denny) of Carrollton, and Kimberly Betz of Willoughby; a son, Thomas (Brigitte) Seich of Warner Robbins, GA; grandchildren, Sean Fritz, Byron Fritz, Heather Fritz, Michael Owens, Samantha Jacobs, Kaitlyn Sara Bennett, Lance Bennett, Taylor Burbick, Matthew Betz, Brody Betz and Andrew Betz; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A private mass will be held for family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her favorite charities, St. Jude Hospital Children's Research Hospital and Father Baker's Home for Children in Lackawana, NY.
