Hyle J. Poole

Hyle J. PooleHyle J. Poole, age 86, of 2181 Lodge Road S.W., Sherrodsville, died late Wednesday night, May 12, 2010, in the Carroll Healthcare Center at Carrollton.

Born March 5, 1924, in Flemington, WV, he was the son of the late Earl Patrick and Ella Gay Wilcox Poole.

He retired in 1980 as a mechanic for the Timken Company at Canton after 34 years of service.  He also operated a farm on Bark Road in Dellroy for 42 years.

He was a World War II Army veteran who served in the infantry in Germany.   He was always known to be light-hearted and enjoyed talking to people.  But primarily Hyle was a loving and thoughtful husband, dad, and grandpa.

He is survived by his wife, Nada B. Wyne Poole, whom he married November 5, 1946; four children, Richard  (Sue) Shellock of Bolivar, Janniefier (Charles) Leatherman of Columbus, Lyle (Twila) Poole of Dellroy, and Beverly (Raymond) Hill of Carrollton; a sister, Edna McGuyrt of Canton; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Jack Poole, and a great-grandson Dalton Ford.

Funeral services were held May 17 in Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville with Rev. Marion Sandefur officiating. Interment followed in Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens at Canton.
