Wilda M. Schandel

Wilda M. Schandel, age 91 of Minerva, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, in Aultman Hospital.

Born Feb. 3, 1919, in Carrollton, she was a daughter to William and Jesse (Meitzler) Hemming.

She was a housewife and member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the Carroll County Humane Society.

She is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Larry) Englehart of Minerva; four grandchildren, Marissa and Chris Schandel, Bob (Kim) Englehart and Troy Schandel; and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira “Butch” Schandel, who died in 2000; a son, Michael Schandel; sister, Violet English; and two half brothers, Floyd and Tom Gregory.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Mark Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Heritage Memorial Gardens. Calling hours will be Monday evening 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
