Annie DeMarco

Annie DeMarco, 79, of Bergholz died Saturday evening, Jan. 12, 2013, in Aultman Hospital at Canton of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Born Aug. 3, 1933, in Wolf Run, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Maras Bensko.

She was a member of All Saints Orothodox Church of Wolf Run, where she had served as secretary/treasurer of the church sisterhood.

She enjoyed traveling with Bob and her friends, playing cards, working on her farm, and making sure everyone had something to eat and drink.  She was an extremely hard worker and loved life.  If there ever was a life of the party, it was Annie.

She is survived by a daughter, Honchie DeMarco and Bradley Childers; her companion of 37 years, Robert "Bob" Walker; dear friends, John and Sue Ujcich and Rose and Joe Seck; her card club companions of 50 years, Jane Schultz, Martha Gorsuch, Fran Fleishour, Charlene Keenan, Evelyn Burrier, Betty Mazur and June Muesegaes, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, in 1960; two brothers, John and Steve Bensko; and five sisters, Mary Schuler, Rosalie King, Anita Frisby, Ellen Blazwich, and Katherine Denzinger.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Jan. 17 at 10 a.m. in All Saints Orothodox Church with burial to follow in All Saints Cemetery in Wolf Run.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home in Amsterdam with Parastas services at 8 p.m.
