Eugene "Gene" Hinerman
Eugene "Gene" Hinerman, age 83, of Carrollton (Harlem Springs) died Saturday evening, Dec. 15, 2012, in Mercy Medical Center of Canton.
Born Feb. 24, 1929, in Coburn, WV, he was a son of the late Jackson and Mary Gump Hinerman.
He retired from the Operating Engineers Local 18 of Akron as a crane operator.
He is survived by two sons, Rick (Valerie) Hinerman of Dundee and Randy (Michelle) Hinerman of Carrollton; two daughters, Tammy (Jeff) Ohler and Kathy (Greg) King, both of Carrollton; five grandchildren, Tiffani (David) Roush, Eric (Tonya) Hinerman, Jeromy (Amy) Hinerman, Matt (Erica) Ohler and Marc (Brooke) Ohler; 10 great grandchildren, Danielle (fiancé Josh Hendershott), Tyler Roush, Nathaniel, Zachary, Isabella and Olivia Ohler, and Deric, David, Alanna, and Paige Hinerman; a brother, Dale Hinerman of Carrollton; a sister, Mary Lou "Dolly" Schoeneman of Canton; and his best friend and companion, Donna Wells and family of Carrollton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Doris Marie Ray, whom he married Dec. 22, 1949, and who passed away Sept. 22, 1994; special friend, Joyce Yoder who passed away Sept. 21, 2001; seven sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Carrollton with Rev. Tom Maley officiating. Burial will follow in Harlem Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Gene's name to the donor's favorite charity.
