Rev. Timothy Augustus Campitelli

Rev. Timothy Augustus Campitelli, age 50, of Louisville, entered the loving arms of his Lord and Savior in his home surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009.

He was born April 1, 1959, in Canton.

He was a 1978 graduate of Carrollton High School and attended Mt. Vernon Nazarene University.  He served as Pastor of Martins Ferry Church of the Nazarene for four years until retiring due to illness.  Previously, he served as Associate Pastor of Minerva Church of the Nazarene and worked at Carrollton Graphics.  He was a member of Canton First Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia (Eick) Campitelli, whom he married in 1977; daughters, Marlana Campitelli of Columbus, Amanda (Steve) Henry of Franklin, PA, Olivia, Katrina, Danielle and Victoria Campitelli, all of the home; father, Augustus Campitelli, Sr. of Fort Myers, FL; mother, Susan Miller of Melbourne, FL; grandmother, Assunta "Sentina" Campitelli of Florida; grandchildren, Michaela, Corban, Dylan and Andrew Henry; a sister, Chris (Don) Herwick of Springboro; brothers, Bob (Mary) of Dover and Joe (Dee) of Columbus; a stepsister, Shelly Campitelli of Canton; half-brother, Nick Campitelli of Dellroy and many other family members.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Agustus Campitelli, Jr. and nephew, MSgt. Travis Griffin.

Funeral services were conducted Oct. 12 at Canton First Nazarene Church with Rev. Mike Dennis and Dr. David Downs officiating.  Burial was in Heritage Memorial Gardens in Minerva.  In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to Mercy Hospice or the Tim Campitelli Memorial Ministerial Scholarship, East Ohio District of the Nazarene Church.  Arrangements were by Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel.  Those wishing to share their condolences or a fond memory may sign the Reed Online Guest Book at www.reedfuneral.com.
