Rev. Clyde Edwin Willis
Rev. Clyde Edwin Willis, 92, of Copeland Oaks, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at Crandall Medical Center following a long illness.
Born Dec. 28, 1917, in Alliance, he was the son of the late Forrest B. and Mary E. (Borland) Willis.
He was a member of the east Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church and a minister for the United Methodist Church for 30 years serving churches in Lower Salem, Hannibal, Sonora, New Alexandria, Brewster, Windham, Gustavus, Green Springs, Spencer, Powhattan, First United Methodist Church in Cuyahoga Falls, and Peninsula. He was a member of Malta Lodge 118 F& A M, Eastern Star, and a former member Gustavus Grange.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Valoise F. (Weaver) Willis; sons, Paul (Cynthia) Willis of Orrstown, PA, Roger (Cheryl) Willis of Marydel, MD, and Gene (Penny) Willis of Lower Salem; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy and Sarah Willis.
Funeral services were held at Bartley Funeral Home, Minerva, Sept. 11 with Rev. George Shreckengost officiating. Burial was in Moultrie Chapel Cemetery. Friends unable to attend may register online at www.bartleyfuneralhome.com. |
