Earl Burchfield
Earl Burchfield, 91, our beloved father, grandfather and friend passed on into his eternal life Sept. 4, 2009.
Born Feb. 17, 1918, in Steubenville, he was a son of the late Mary and Emmett Burchfield of Unionport.
He was an Army veteran of WWII and retired from TRW in Minerva.
He is survived by two sons, Robert (Connie) Burchfield of Port Charlotte, FL, and Homer "Ed" (Barbara) Burchfield of Carrollton; three daughters, Helen (Albert) Otto of Steubenville, Lois Sweat of Carrollton and June (Tom) Elson of Strongsville; 16 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Gladys James who he married April 13, 1940, and who passed into eternal life Feb. 16, 1993; a son, Kenneth Burchfield; one son-in-law, Lee Sweat; two brothers, Walter and Albert Burchfield and three sisters, Stella Greer, Edith Owens and Mildred Elliott.
Funeral services were held Sept. 9 in Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home in Carrollton with Pastor David Powell officiating. Burial was in Unionport Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Earl's name to Hospice of Carroll County, 1040 Trump Rd., NW, Carrollton, 44615.
