Scott Toot, age 81, of Antigua Rd., Carrollton died Friday morning July 27, 2012, in his beloved home on the farm where he was born March 26, 1931.
He was the son of the late Harry Brice and Isabelle Marshall Toot.
He was a devoted family man who lived for his wife, kids and grandkids. He enjoyed his yearly vacation to Branson, MO, and attending southern gospel concerts but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Scott was a retired engineer for GTE and owned Pattersonville Telephone Company in Carroll County since 1971. He was a member of Christ Community Church of Dellroy where he had served as an elder, trustee, and song leader for many years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Monroe Township Farm Bureau.
He is survived by his wife, the former Nelva Naylor, whom he enjoyed 62 years of marriage since Aug. 27, 1950; three daughters, Margie (Dexter) Kaltenbach, Shirley (Marty) Kamban, and Barb Toot; four grandchildren, Mindy (Chip) Weiland, Aaron (Carisa) Jones, Landon (Lauren) Kamban, Lexi Kamban and Cora Sisil; four great grandchildren, Brice Weiland, Regan Weiland, Coby Weiland, and Bray Jones; two step grandchildren, Kelly Busch and Nikki Hollis; and five step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Lafferty.
Funeral services will be held July 31 in Christ Community Church in Dellroy with Rev. Ron Silver officiating. Burial followed in Scott Cemetery. Memorials in Scott's name may be made to Christ Community Church, 20 E. Main St., Dellroy, OH 44620.
