Flora E. Peters

Flora E. Peters, 91, of East Springfield died Tuesday evening, June 15, 2011, in Carroll Healthcare Center following an extended illness.

Born Nov. 12, 1919, in Rowelsburg, WV, she was a daughter of the late John Wesley and Etta Mae Funk Hershman.

She was a member of East Springfield Methodist Church, Annapolis Grange and Pomona Grange of Jefferson County.

She is survived by three sons, James (Rose) Peters of East Springfield, Donald (Antonia) Edward of Little Falls, NJ, and John (Sharon) Earl of Pataskala; a daughter, Ed (Nancy Jean) Whitmore of Mechanicstown; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren and two brothers, Robert Hershman of Navarre and Charles Hershman of Rowlesburg, WV.

Funeral services were held June 20 in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Amsterdam with Rev. Josh Conley officiating.  Burial followed in East Springfield Cemetery.
