Elizabeth Marie Rogers

Elizabeth Marie Rogers, 92, of Carrollton passed away Monday, June 1, 2009, in her residence.

Born March 12, 1917, in Gastonia, NC, she was a daughter of the late Erman J. and Claudia Euna (Barrier) Morgan.

She worked at Timken Mercy Medical Center for 13 years as a nurse's aid and at Timken Roller Bearing Company for two years.  She was a member of Carrollton Baptist Temple.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, William D. (Cindy) Rogers of Delaware, OH. and Mark D. Rogers of Carrollton; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy Ann (Mike) O'Connell of Baldwin, NY; one brother, George Morgan of Andrews, NC; two sisters, Marie Lingerfelt of Belmont, NC. and Pheba Lunsford of Kings Mountain, NC; nine grandchildren and Helen Engle, who was more than a dear friend and confident, she was like a daughter to Elizabeth.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel N. Rogers whom she married July 9, 1938, and who passed away Aug. 11, 2005; a son, Patrick Roy Rogers; a daughter, Martha Jo Hamwey; two brothers, Carl and Robert Morgan and a sister, Ruth Ferguson.

Funeral services were held June 5 in Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home with Pastor David L. Powell officiating.  Burial was in Westview Cemetery.
