Ray Wagner
Ray Wagner, 75, of Carrollton died early Wednesday morning, May 27, 2009, in his home.
Born Nov. 10, 1933, in Carrollton, he was the son of the late Thomas and Helen Butterfield Wagner.
He was a Navy veteran having served in the Korean War. In 1996, he retired as manager of Carroll Electric Co-Op in Carrollton after a 37-year career. He was a member of Carrollton Church of Christ Christian Disciples, the former Carrollton Lions Club and Carrollton Pelican Club. He coached Hot Stove baseball for 18 years in Carrollton.
He is survived by his wife, the former Kay George, whom he married March 3, 1957; three sons, Doug (Karen) Wagner of Carrollton, Roger (Bonnie) Wagner of Greenville, SC, and Kenneth (Cathy) Wagner of Manchester, TN. and five grandchildren, Brad, Aaron, Kelsie, Zach and Zane.
He was preceded in death by one brother, James.
Funeral services were held May 30 in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Carrollton with Rev. Mike Doak officiating. Burial was in Harlem Springs Cemetery with full military honors provided by VFW, DAV and American Legion.
