Margaret L. Gray
Margaret L. Gray, age 70, of Bowerston, died Monday morning, May 21, 2012, in Amberwood Manor at New Philadelphia following a brief illness.
Born Oct. 8, 1941, in Greentown, OH, she was the daughter of the late Roger Burton and Mildred "Millie" Houtz Reiboldt.
Margaret was primarily a homemaker and was a member of Perrysville United Methodist Church. She kept active with her involvement in Conotton Valley Garden Club, Tuscarawas County Stamp Club, and Tuscarawas County and Harrison County Genealogical Societies. She served as a member and advisor for Harrison County 4-H and was employed by the Harrison County Extension Services Office for a number of years. She was an officer and board member of Harrison County Senior Center.
In her personal time, she was an avid reader, an enthusiastic gardener who generally liked being outdoors, was an accomplished seamstress, and had an undeniable love for all animals. She and her husband regularly supported various mission efforts around the world.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne W. Gray, Sr., whom she married April 9, 1961; three sons, James F. Gray and his wife, Candy Taylor, of Follansbee, WV, Steve Gray of New Philadelphia, and Aaron Gray of Pittsburgh, PA; a sister, Mrs. John (Carolyn) Halchuck of Warren; seven grandchildren Mrs. Joshua (Rebekah) Wallace of North Carolina, Caleb Gray of Yadkinville, NC, Corey, and Kyle, Zane, Morgan, and Sophi Gray, all of Follansbee, WV; a daughter-in-law, Nancy McGary Gray of Yadkinville, NC; and a sister-in-law, Patricia Reiboldt of Carrollton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Wayne W. "Willy" Gray, Jr., and a brother, Roger David Reiboldt.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 24 at 10 a.m. in Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville with Pastor Bill Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in the Conotton Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of purchasing flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Harrison County Senior Center, 120 N. Main St., Cadiz, O. 43907, or Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, O. 44663.
