Earl W. Robertson

Earl W. Robertson, 79, of Bergholz, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Trinity Medical Center West Emergency Room following a sudden illness.

Born April 20, 1929, in Archer Township near Cadiz, he was a son of the late William Nathan and Ethel S. (Oxier) Robertson.

He was retired from National Steel, Weirton and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.  He was a Protestant by faith, a lifetime member of the Amsterdam VFW and held current or former membership in these organizations:  Bergholz Ruritan Club, Toronto American Legion #86 and Amsterdam Moose.

He is survived by a stepson, Clarence J. (Sears) Edwards of Irondale; two stepdaughters, Norma J. (BJ) Boughton of Humboldt, TN. And Kathleen J. DiMario of Cambridge; a brother, Charles of Crosby, TX.; 17 step-grandchildren, 41 step-great grandchildren and two step-great, great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen H. (Beadnell Edwards) Robertson whom he married Nov. 14, 1981, and who died Nov. 2, 2007; a son, Earl W. Robertson Jr. in 1995; a stepdaughter, Beverly Elliott in 1996; two brothers, Gilbert and Paul and six sisters, Margaret Buxton, Ella Mae Chambers, Marie Brown, Alice McElwain, Dorothy Lamantia and Dolly Faye Curute.

Funeral services were held April 22 in Everhart-Bove Funeral Home in Bergholz with Rev. Mark Thomas officiating.  Burial followed in Bergholz Cemetery with military honors presented by Amsterdam VFW.  Condolences may be sent online at www.everhart-boverfuneralhomes.com.
