Francis L. "Whitey" May
Francis L. "Whitey" May, 71, of Springfield, died Sunday, March 28, 2010, at the OSU Ross Heart Hospital.
Born Nov. 12, 1938, in Shelby, Ohio, he was a son of the late Irvin L. and Geneva (Hartz) May.
He was retired from teaching and self-employment as a pool/deck/remodeling contractor. Whitey held both a bachelor's and master's degree in Education from Wittenberg University.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Morckel) May; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Scott Benner of Avon, IN; step-son, K.C. Morckel of Loveland; step-daughter and son-in-law, Karmen and Shannon Griffith of Westminster, CO; grandsons, Andrew May Benner, Kenneth Christian Morckel, and Hudson Joseph Griffith; granddaughters, Aerin Carol Morckel and Gracyn Mary Griffith; sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Richard Burson of San Diego, CA, and their children Josh and Libby Burson and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sue and John Deford, and sister-in-law Barb Walton, both of Carrollton.
In accordance with his wishes, his remains have been donated to the Wright State University Medical School. There will be no services held.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Gerald P. Sturm Wright State University Scholarship Fund.
