Helen E. Shepherd

Helen E. Shepherd, 88, of Carrollton formerly of Bergholz, died Tuesday evening March 23, 2010, in Legends Healthcare Center at Massillon.

Born Dec. 15, 1921, in Carrollton, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Grace Bothwell Boyd.

She was a 60-year member of Church of Christ in Bergholz and the Ladies Aid Society of the Church; and a 60-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by two sons, Richard (Janet) of Carrollton and Terry of Pataskala; two daughters, Kay (David) Carson of Canton and Ruth (Jerry) Billman of Columbus; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and two sisters, Maxine Brooks of Carrollton and Lois (John) Buchanan of Lebanon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard in 1994; and a daughter-in-law, Shirley in 2003.

Funeral services were held March 27 in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Carrollton with Rev. David Miller officiating.  Burial was in Harlem Springs Cemetery.
