Marion G. Hinton

Marion G. HintonMarion G. Hinton, age 84, of Salineville and most recently Minerva, died Sunday March 7, 2010, in Aultman Hospital.

Born Aug. 29, 1925, in Salineville, he was a son of Joseph and Hazel (Gray) Hinton.

He retired from TRW in Minerva and worked part time for the PCC Prototype Foundry after retirement. He was a dairy farmer, member of the Carrollton United Methodist Church, a US Army Air Corp Veteran of WWII, life member of the Minerva VFW Post #4120, Minerva Eagles Aerie #2199 and an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his former wife Ellen Borland of Salineville; four daughters, Sherry (Ronald) Martin of Wadsworth, Beverly Tripp of Wilson, NC, Virginia (James) Ward and Lora Hinton, both of Minerva; three sons, Thomas (Sue) Hinton of Minerva, William (Kaye) Hinton of Salineville and Jerry (Abby) Hinton of Carrollton; two sisters, Edna Jean Baker of Columbus and Roxie Sutton of Mechanicstown; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Leishman; two infant sisters; and two brothers, Charles and Harry Hinton.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday in Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Harold Barber officiating. Burial with full military services will be in Mechanicstown Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Minerva VFW Post #4120 or at any Chase Bank c/o DVA Connie Jeandervin for Benefit of Danny Jeandervin.
