Donna Lee Shepherd

Donna Lee Shepherd, 76, of Circle Green (Bergholz) died Wednesday evening, Feb. 29, 2012, at Valley Hospice Care Center in Steubenville following a brief illness.

Born Sept. 7, 1935, in Toronto, she was a daughter of the late Oris and Hazel Stewart.

She was a member of East Springfield United Methodist Church and East Springfield Senior Citizens Association.

She is survived by her husband, Howard Shepherd, whom she married Dec. 17, 1983; three sons, Sherman (Joyce) Stine and Fred Stine, both of Amsterdam, and Kirk (Karen) Shepherd of Creston; four daughters, Jane (Walter) Kmatz and Marge Wood, both of Bergholz, Kathy (Ronald) Wolford of Wooster and Susan (Daniel) Thele of Chestnut Mound, TN; 23 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and a sister, Opal Galloway of Keystone Heights, FL.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Stine; four brothers; two sisters; and a grandson.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 5 at 11 a.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Amsterdam with Rev. Josh Conley officiating.  Burial will follow in Circle Green Cemetery near Bergholz.  Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 p.m. in the funeral home.
