Ann Patricia (Snode) Rinehart

Ann Patricia (Snode) Rinehart, of Stockbridge, GA, died Jan. 20, 2012, in Sacred Journey Hospice after a battle with cancer.

Born June 24, 1948, in Carrollton, OH, she was a daughter of Edgar and Martha Snode. Ann was the oldest of four children raised on the family farm in Mechanicstown, OH. She was active in her church and various community activities including 4-H while residing in Ohio.

Later, Ann moved with her family to Jonesboro, GA, where she continued to serve others through her involvement with church and missions organizations. She enjoyed cooking, especially for friends and family, whom she often entertained in her home and was well known for her annual gift baskets of homemade Christmas treats. An avid seamstress and quilter, she shared these talents with friends and family as well. Ann also showed her appreciation for service men and women by regularly sending care packages overseas.

Ann was also a world traveler, having visited many of the earth's most beautiful places. Included in her travels were Niagara Falls, the redwood forests of California, the Great Wall of China, and her favorites, the Holy Land of Israel and the scenic country of Ireland.

Ann is survived by her husband of 43 years, Jim; her daughters, Trixy Slaughter and her husband Jim, Tonya Wright and her husband Darron, and Toni Rinehart; four grandchildren whom she adored, Christopher, Ashley, Kaitlyn, and Trent; her brothers, Max Snode and his wife Dedre, and Doug Snode and his wife Debbie; her sister Lucy Akel and her husband Matthew; and many other friends and family.

Funeral Services will be held Jan. 24 at 2 p.m. in Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Rev. Robert Yandle, officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.   A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 28 at 2 p.m. at the Herrington Bethel United Methodist Church in Mechanicstown. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Mrs. Rinehart's name can be made to Sacred Journey Hospice, 138 Peach Dr., Stockbridge, GA 30281.
