William H. Bench
William H. Bench, 74, of South Shore, KY, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at his residence.
Born May 2, 1937, in Carrollton, he was a son of the late Steven Bench and Una Smith Bench.
He was a Korean Air Force veteran and attended South Shore First Church of God in South Shore, KY. He was a member of Harrison-Fullerton Masonic Lodge #937 of South Shore, KY, and retired from Tennessee Gas Company at Load, KY, after 37 years.
He is survived by his wife Sybil Zornes Dupuy Bench, whom he married Feb. 2, 2002; two sons, Steven John Branch of Portland, OR, and Michael (Carla) Bench of Seattle, WA; two step daughters, Vickie (Mike) Leonhart of South Shore, KY, and Christy (Mark) Fuller of Flatwoods, KY; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Arleen Griffeth Bench, who died June 21, 1996; two brothers, Grover and Glenn Bench; and a sister, Harriet Mayes.
Funeral services will be Dec. 5 at 11 a.m. in Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home in Carrollton with Rev. Dan Loomis officiating. Burial will be in Harlem Springs Cemetery, Harlem Springs, OH. Visitation will be at Roberson Funeral Home Saturday, Dec. 3 from 6-8 p.m. with a Masonic service at 8 p.m. by Harrison-Fullerton Masonic Lodge #937 of South Shore, KY. Visitation at Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home will be Dec. 4 from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral services. |
