Vada Irene Tipton Peterson

Vada Irene Tipton Peterson, 84, of Unionport, Wintersville and Aurora, died Nov. 30, 2009, after a long loving life.

Born Aug. 14, 1925, in Unionport, she was a daughter to the late Olen Archie and Katherine (Kroskey) Tipton.

She taught school in Hopedale and Wintersville for 35 years retiring in 1982 and was a member of the Ohio Retired Teacher's Association and Unionport and Wintersville Methodist Church and Unionport Grange #2728.

She is survived by her sister, Patricia Tipton Korner of Aurora, where she lived for the past 12 years; nephews, Keith (Suzanne) Korner and Kraig Korner, both of Aurora; four brothers-in-law, and 31 nieces and nephews from the Peterson family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Dean Peterson and her in-laws, Marion and Neola Peterson.

Funeral Services were held at Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home in Amsterdam.  Burial was in Unionport Cemetery.
