Thomas W Marcus

Thomas W Marcus age 71, of Navarre, passed away Nov. 7, 2010, at Agape Hospice Center (Myrtle Beach, SC) after a long illness.

He was born July 1, 1939, in Amsterdam.

He was a graduate of Springfield High School class of 1957. He retired after 33 years of service from the East Ohio Gas Company, served in the US Navy as a radioman, a volunteer fireman and EMT for Navarre Village Fire Dept for 20 years, a little league baseball coach, a member/trustee of Fohl United Methodist Church, and was a 32nd degree mason of the Massillon Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lois (Sponaugle) Marcus; son, Tommy (Stefanie) Marcus; daughter, Tammy (Mike) Hamric; grandchildren, Madelyn and Jacob Hamric; sister, Sondra (Pat) Willison; sister-in-law, Verna (Vee) Marcus; many beloved nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and many beloved friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Violet Marcus; his brother, Jack E. Marcus; and brothers-in-law, Tommy and Donnie Sponaugle.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, Nov. 15 at 11 a.m. at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home, Navarre Chapel with Rev. Chet Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Bergholz Community Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-8 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made in Thomas's name to Agape Hospice Center, 128A Professional Park Dr, Conway, SC 29526.
