Laura E. "Betty" Eden, 87, formerly of Carrollton, passed away Sept. 24, 2009, in Eugene, OR.   Born Jan. 20, 1922, in Holton, KS, she was a daughter to Jesse (Lunsford) Johnson and Mary Inez (Hill) Johnson.   Betty was a 1939 graduate of Carrollton High School. She was a U.S. Army nurse during World War II, and worked as a nurse anesthetist at Sacred Heart General Hospital in Eugene for nearly 20 years.  Survivors include a daughter, Susan Souder of Roseburg, OR; a brother, J. Ross Johnson of Mechanicstown and a granddaughter, Elaine.   A memorial service was held Oct. 4, at Campbell Senior Center in Eugene. Her ashes will be scattered on the Grand Teton Mountains near Jackson, WY.
