Don Clyde Stewart
Don Clyde Stewart, 83, of Carrollton passed away Sept. 16, 2009.
Born March 14, 1926, in Scroggsfield, he was the son of the late Edgar Raymond and Hilda Bell (Buck) Stewart.
He was a concrete mason for over 40 years and was a Navy veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church but attended Church of Christ (Christian Disciples) in Carrollton for 41 years. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and a life long member of the Carroll County Vet's Club.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline M. Harsh who he married Aug. 30, 1948; five daughters, Connie (Michael) Ciconte of Kensington, Cathy (James) Rose of Grand Prairie, TX, Christine (Terry) Eick of Carrollton, Carla (David) Heisler of Cape Coral, FL, and Cheri (Jesse) Alejo-Morgan of Blue Springs, MO; one sister-in-law, Earla Stewart of Toronto; 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William Harold and Doyle R. Stewart and one foster sister, Helen Paisley.
Funeral services were held Sept. 19 at Carrollton Church of Christ with Rev. Mike Doak officiating and full military honors by VFW, DAV and American Legion during the service. Private graveside services will be held later in Harlem Springs Cemetery.
