Virgil R. "Skip" Baughman
Virgil R. "Skip" Baughman, Jr., age 66, of 2nd St. NW, Carrollton, died Saturday evening, Sept. 1, 2012, in Aultman Compassionate Care Center in Woodlawn in Canton.
Born Dec. 31, 1945, in Greensburg, PA, he was a son of the late Virgil R. and D. Lois Baughman, Sr.
He was a member of Corinth Presbyterian Church of Mechanicstown and served as a deacon.
He worked at Canton Drop Forge until December 2003, retiring after 38 years. In his younger years of life, he worked at Kohler's Gas Station and IGA Grocery Store. He loved bowling as much as he loved life. He bowled on several leagues at Carroll Lanes and a league in Alliance. Skip bowled in the State and National Bowling Tournaments and also Father and Daughter Tournaments. He bowled numerous 300-point games, which he was very proud of.
He is survived by his daughter, Rachelle L. Morrison of Massillon; a brother and sister-in-law, Samuel and Donna Baughman of Jenison, MI; and three grandchildren, Abigail Morrison, Annaleesea Morrison, and Allen Steffl.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy L. (Hull) Baughman of 36 years of marriage, who passed away Dec. 16, 2003; and his brother, Tom Baughman.
He has been laid to rest at Westview Cemetery in Carrollton. The family requests memorials be made in Skip's memory to the American Cancer Society, 525 N. Broad St., Canfield, OH 44406. |
