Ruby Elizabeth Dearth
Ruby Elizabeth Dearth, 75, of Minerva, formerly of Carrollton passed away July 28, 2009, in Aultman Hospital.
Born June 27, 1934, in Leavittsville, she was a daughter of the late Charles A. and Florence E. (Buchanan) Trushel and was raised by her Grandmother Mary Trushel.
She was a graduate of Scio High School. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and Carrollton First United Methodist Church. She was a cook at St. John's Villa and Carrollton Rotary Club and formerly worked for Carrollton Manufacturing Company. She had catered many banquets and weddings over the years.
She was a member of FOE Auxiliary #2185 of Carrollton for over 30 years, a life member of Carrollton VFW Auxiliary #3301 and Minerva FOE #2199 for the past 15 years.
She is survived by a son, Ralph (Kim) Dearth of Carrollton; a stepson, William (Mary Faye) Dearth of Carrollton; three stepdaughters, Shari Lynn Howells of Carrollton, Teresa Kiester of Minerva and Melissa Bauer of Berea; one sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Trushel of Carrollton; one uncle, Emerson Trushel of Chardon; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren, one great grandchild expected in September; nine step grandchildren; numerous step great-grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews and very close and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Winfield "Bill" Dearth, who she married Dec. 22, 1970, and who passed away June 18, 2002; a brother, Dick Trushel; two sisters, Hazel Trushel and Betty Zimmerman; two uncles and one step grandson.
Funeral services were held July 31 in Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Loomis officiating. Burial was in Westview Cemetery.
