Mary B. Brooks

Mary B. BrooksMary B. Brooks, 79, was called to eternal life, peacefully at home in the presence of her children on Wednesday, June 23, 2010.

Born July 9, 1930, in Rose Twp., Carroll County, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Beatrice Williams Kessler.

Mary was a member of St. Mary's Church in Morges. She was active in church activities and the Catholic Women's Club. A devoted farm wife, she actively managed the family's Carroll County farm and was an avid gardener until her recent illness caused her to slow down. She was treasured by her family and friends and thoroughly enjoyed filling her home with family, especially on holidays.

She is survived by her children, Larry (Pam) Brooks of Ostrander, Terry (Barb) Brooks of Carrollton, Amy (David) Tinlin of South Bend, IN, Tim (Doreen) Brooks of Dellroy, and Todd (Cathy) Brooks of Ragersville; her sister, Wilma Torkos of Orlando, FL; thirteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and soul mate, Lynn L. Brooks, on Oct. 14, 1984.

Mass of Christian Burial was held June 28 in St. Mary's Church in Morges with Fr. Thomas Marut and Fr. Victor Cinson officiating. Burial was in the Morges Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Carroll County, 1040 Trump Road NW, Suite B, Carrollton, OH 44615.
Arrangements were under the care and guidance of Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Carrollton.
