David LeRoy Johnson
David LeRoy Johnson, age 66, of Malvern, died Monday, June 15, 2009, while vacationing in Playa Del Carman, Mexico.
Born Nov. 20, 1942, in Carrollton, he was a son of the late David and Betty (Gatts) Johnson.
He retired from the Timken Company where he was a machine repairman and inspector for 35 years, drove bus for Malvern Schools, was a member of the Malvern Jaycees, a past president of the Robertsville Ruritan Club, past president of the Brown Twp. Sportsman's Club and several dance clubs. He attended Malvern First Christian Church, was a world traveler and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his mom, Doris (Gascon) Johnson of Carrollton; a daughter, Connie (Scott) Brill of Malvern; a son, John Johnson of Carrollton; two sisters
Kathy Palmer and Karen Baker, both of Carrollton; and four grandchildren, whom he greatly admired, Falicia and Falon Brill and Megan and Justin Johnson.
He is preceded in death by his wife Florence (Hawkins) Johnson, who died March 18, 1998.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 25 at 11 a.m. in Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Mr. George Keralis officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to help defray the costs of his return home.
