William J. Burkhart, Sr.
William J. Burkhart, Sr., age 89, of Morges, passed away Wednesday evening, June 13, 2012, in Aultman Hospital.
Born in Rose Twp., he was a son of the late George and Otildia Schoeppner Burkhart.
He was a lifelong resident of Morges and a retired dairy farmer. He worked at US Ceramic Tile Co., Whitacre-Greer Fireproofing Co. and Crowl Lumber Co.He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Morges and the Farm Bureau.
He is survived by his wife, Martha (Crock) Burkhart, with whom he celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary June 5, 2012; a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Chris Thompson; a son and daughter-in-law, William, Jr. and Nancy (Papai) Burkhart, all of Morges; a sister-in-law, Wilma Burkhart of Louisville; seven grandchildren, Christina Proudfoot (fiancŽ Jason Lee), Brian Thompson, Anne (Lee) Evans, Erika (Dusty) Shockey, and Matthew, Kathryn and Nathan Burkhart; and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Albert, and Harry Burkhart; and two sisters, Mildred Gallagher and Nell Barnhouse.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at noon in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Morges with Fr. Anthony Bass as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Mary's Church Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before Mass at the church form 11 a.m. to noon. Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia is in charge of arrangements. |
