Flora Jane Close

Flora Jane Close, age 83 passed away peacefully and entered eternal life Saturday, May 1, 2010, in Sugar Land, TX.

Born Sept. 25, 1926, she was the youngest of four daughters to the late John Guy and Leela Hazlett Guy.

Known affectionately to her family as "Old Mom", she always met life with a smile.  Those closest to "Old Mom" left behind to cherish her memories include one daughter, Terri Hiller and husband Bill; beloved granddaughter, Marne Cangelosi and husband Chris; the three true loves of her life - her great-grandsons, Trevor, Andrew and Barrett Cangelosi; three granddaughters, Jennifer Kuhns, Stephanie Kuhns and Tisha Rainsberg (and their respective families); numerous relatives and a host of friends who will miss her endlessly open heart, compassionate soul and gentle spirit. 

She was preceded in death by one son, Gary Kuhns and husband, Joseph Close.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 7 at Sweeney-Dodd Funeral Home in Carrollton from 10-11 a.m. with interment to follow at Westview Cemetery at noon.
