Sheldon Clark, age 84, of Doylestown and formerly Minerva, died Saturday, April 28, 2012, in the Apostolic Christian Home in Rittman.
Born May 8, 1927, in Minerva, he was a son to Lawrence and Lila (Allmon) Clark.
He retired from the Hoover Co. in North Canton where he was an engineer and formerly worked for Monarch Products in Minerva. He was a member of Doylestown United Methodist Church and formerly Minerva United Methodist Church where he had been chairman of the Board of Trustees. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of Hoover Engineers Club and a graduate of Augusta High School.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen (Merrick) Clark whom he married June 21, 1959; a daughter, Wilma (Tom) Benedict of Doylestown; two sons, Paul (Connie) Clark of Canton and Jeff Clark of Doylestown; brother, Richard Clark of East Canton and Jeannie Canary of Canton; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Nina Summer; brother, Victor Clark; and a grandson, Jason Clark.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 3 at 10 a.m. in Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Dale Warrick officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
