Dorrie Current

Dorrie Current, 78, of Carrollton, OHDorrie Current, 78, of Carrollton, OH, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend departed for glory Sunday, April 15, 2012, surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness.

Born July 5, 1933, she was a daughter to Albert Barnhart and Marie (Brady) of Chillicothe, OH. 

She was a graduate of Centralia High School and Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH, with a degree in teaching.  She was active in the Retired Teaching Association, American Heart Association, Medical Auxiliary, Steubenville PTO, numerous church/counseling activities and was an avid bowler.  Her greatest joy was spending time with those she loved.  She was a true lady of sophistication and would never be seen at church without her hat.

She is survived by family members, her children, John Current (Julia) of Massillon, Mia Bausell (Kyle), Paul Current (Val) of Williamsburg, VA, and Laura Baxter (Alan); grandchildren, Jacob, Paige, Jealyn, and Wyatt Current, Abbi, Maci (Matt), and Olivia Bausell; Owen Current; and Kody and Chase Baxter; siblings, Pauline Haefeli, Margaret Seitz (Nolan), Glenn "John" Barnhart (Betty), Ralyn "Dutch" Barnhart, and Frank Barnhart (Jan); many nieces and nephews and special companion/best friend, Wilbur George.

She was preceded in death by siblings, Evelyn MacDonald, Albert Jr. Barnhart, Herman Barnhart, Carolyn Barnhart and former husband, James Van Current.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 20 at Church of Christ, Moody Ave., Carrollton.  Visitation will be Thursday, April 19, 5-8 p.m. at the Church.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Aultman Hospice or the American Heart Association. Arrangements were under the care of Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Homes.
