Dora D. Amos
Dora D. Amos, 87, of Carrollton, died Thursday, March 12, 2009, in Carroll Golden Age Retreat following an extended illness.
Born March 26, 1921, in Kilgore, she was a daughter of the late Hugh and Nellie Harding Amos.
She was a retired bank employee of the former First National and Society Bank of Carrollton. She was a member of Carrollton First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two nephews, Robert (Sara) Amos of Mechanicstown and John (Margaret) Cassidy of Massillon; three nieces, JoAnne (Michael) Baran of Phoenix, AZ., Christina (Daniel) Pastor of Canton and Carol (Stephen) Champa of Delaware, OH and several grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harvey and James Amos and three sisters, Ruth Cassidy, Mary McConnell and Virginia Amos.
Funeral services were held March 16 at Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home in Carrollton with Pastors James and Elaine Painting officiating. Burial followed in Kilgore Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Dora's name may be made to either the Carrollton First United Methodist Church, S. Lisbon St., Carrollton or Carroll Golden Age Retreat, 2202 Kensington Rd., NE, Carrollton.
