Maxine "Peany" Eaton

Maxine "Peany" Eaton, 85, of Carrollton passed away Thursday afternoon, Feb. 17, 2011, in Mercy Medical Center at Canton.

Born June 11, 1925, in Scio, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Anna Pearl Miser Reed.

She was a graduate of Aultman Hospital School of Nursing and worked in Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna and St. Anne's Hospital in Cleveland.  She was a member of Kilgore United Methodist Church, Carroll County Library Board, Parish Nurse Program and was a volunteer at Carroll County Golden Age Retreat.

She is survived by her son, Eric Michael (Marie) Eaton of Lyndhurst; a daughter, Barbara (Gregory) Koch of Holland, NY, and Islamorada, FL; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, in 1995.

Funeral services will be Sunday, Feb. 20 at 3 p.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home in Carrollton with Rev. Kimberly Arbaugh officiating.  Burial will be in Kilgore Cemetery. 

Visitation will be Sunday from 1-3 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family wishes memorial contributions be made in Maxine's name to Carroll County Golden Age Retreat, 2202 Kensington Rd., Carrollton, 44615.
