Ethel L. (Nape) Welch
Ethel L. (Nape) Welch, age 90, of Carrollton, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012.
Born July 6, 1921, in Carrollton, she was a daughter of the late James A. and Mary Eleanor (Finnicum) Nape.
She was a lifetime resident of Carroll County and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by five sons, John E. (Sharon) Hafner, Ronnie Hafner, Roger Welch and Raymond (Annette) Welch, all of Carrollton, and David (Teresa) Welch of Louisville; three daughters, Carol (Dale) Grimm, Patricia Welch and Gladys (Paul) Ash, all of Carrollton; a sister, Eileen (Nape) Strawder of Carrollton; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and several step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dashler A. Welch, whom she married Dec. 25, 1947, and who passed away Aug. 13, 1973; a brother, Donald Nape in 1998; and two great grandsons.

A funeral service was held Feb. 18 at Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home in Carrollton. Burial followed in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Petersburg. |
