Lois Gassman

Lois Gassman from LouisvilleLois Gassman, 93, of Louisville greatly anticipated going home to be with her Lord. She arrived at her home in Glory on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009.

She was born Aug. 14, 1915, in Paris, to Herbert and Faye (Sponseller) Henning.

She was a housewife, a registered nurse who did private duty nursing and worked for  Mapleview Nursing Home. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She graduated from Louisville High School in 1933 and Alliance City Hospital School of Nursing in 1936.  She was a Red Cross blood bank volunteer. She was a charter member of the Minerva Bible Presbyterian Church and an ardent Bible student.

She is survived by four daughters, Ardena Gassman of Harlem Springs, Doreen (Harold) Jenkins of Madison, VA, Nadine (Jim) Ames with whom she resided and Reva (Scott) Kaufman of Starr, SC; three sons, Wayne (Janet) Gassman of Boring, OR, Marvin (Beverly) Gassman of Fredericktown and Stanley (Charlotte) Gassman of Paris; two sisters, Stella Heavner of Milford, MI and Leila (Harry) Kindall of Louisville; one brother, Richard (Mary) Henning of Paris; 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Willis Gassman who died in 1998; a sister, Margaret Mills; two brothers, Clyde and Robin Henning and four grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the many friends from Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and the staff of Aultman Hospice.

Funeral services Feb. 14 in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Potter officiating. Burial was in Liberty Cemetery. Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva was in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Morrow Bible Mission, 2940 Twp. Rd. 182, Fredericktown, OH 43019, for the ministry of Miqueas and Deborah Perez in Mexico.
