George E. Bell, M.D.

George E. Bell, M.D., age 85, of Columbus died Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at Willow Brook Christian Home. 

He was a member of Overbrook Presbyterian Church.  He enjoyed traveling, tennis and OSU football.  Dr. Bell was a captain in the U.S. Air Force in the Korean War; Medical Director of the Columbus State Hospital and Vice-President Medical Director of Nationwide Insurance.

He is survived by his sons, Richard Bell, Jeff (Brenda) Bell & David (Sue) Bell; daughter-in-law, Michelle Bell; grandchildren, Heather, Holly (Tim), Tatum and Connor and a great-grandson, Trenton George Kern

Dr. Bell is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Adams Bell; son, John Bell and sisters, Pauline and Ruth.

Private services were arranged by Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High Street, Worthington, OH. with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Galion, OH.  In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to:  Riverside Methodist Hospital Cancer Fund or HomeReach Hospice, c/o OhioHealth Foundation, 180 East Broad Street, Floor 31, Columbus, OH 43215-3707.
