Faye A. Allmon
Faye A. Allmon, age 85 of Minerva, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, in Alliance Community Hospital.
Born Dec. 9, 1925, in Akron, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Irene (Yost) Saltsman.
She worked as an obstetric nurse at Mercy Hospital. She was a 1943 graduate of Minerva High School and graduated in 1946 from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She was a 50-year member of Esther Chapter OES and a lifetime member of Mercy Hospital Alumni Association. She was a member of the Minerva First Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Baxter of Minerva and Lisa (Thom) Baker of Bolivar; a son, Bruce (Deborah) Allmon of Massillon; a son-in-law, Daryl Baxter of Minerva; three grandchildren, Shandra Castle, Lindsey Asbury and Chelsea Baker; and four great grandchildren, Katie Castle, Cole Castle, Isabella Asbury and Baby Girl Asbury.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Allmon who died Oct. 1, 2003; and a grandson, Wesley Howard Baxter.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 29 in Minerva Presbyterian Church with Rev. Barbara Bartholomew and Mr. Ralph Norman officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday from 11 - 1 p.m. at the church with Eastern Star services at 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the church. Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva was in charge of arrangements.
