Janet Kay Boggess
Janet Kay Boggess, 62, of Minerva passed away Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at the residence of William R. Goebeler.
Born Aug. 11, 1947, in Carrollton, she was a daughter of the late Everette L. and Mildred A. (Geckler) Boggess.
She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Carrollton. She graduated from Carrollton High School in 1965, Andrews University in Michigan in 1970 and received her teaching certificate from Malone College. She was a teacher at Harrison Hills School in Harrison County where she taught K-10th grade.
She is survived by a daughter, Denise (Wally) Whiteman of Scio; five brothers, Danny (Judith) Boggess of Canton, Robert (Alyce) Boggess of Casselberry, FL, Larry (Joan) Boggess of Parkersburg, WV, Richard (Jerri) Boggess of San Antonio, TX, and Bennie (Marvel) Boggess of Ellicott City, MD; one grandson, Zachary Zane Whiteman of Scio; her companion William R. Goebeler of Minerva and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Jan. 24 at 1:30 p.m. at Days Inn, 1111 Canton Rd, Carrollton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the Worthy Student Fund at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 450 12th St. NW, Carrollton, in memory of Janet.
