Ricklin R. Goldsmith

Ricklin R. Goldsmith, 59, passed away late Thursday evening, Jan. 13, 2011, in Countryview Manor in Carrollton.

Born Nov. 30, 1951, in Sutton, WV, he was a son of the late Ray and Frances Jack Goldsmith.

He was a member of Carrollton Church of Christ Christian Disciples, a member of Carroll Hills Bowling League, a participant in Special Olympics for many years where he won numerous medals.  He was an avid c-b radio enthusiast who enjoyed a good conversation and was an honorary member of Carroll County React.

He is survived by a brother, Robert (Ann) Goldsmith of Parrish, FL; a nephew, Ken (Melanie) Goldsmith of Florida; a niece, Jennifer Whinnery of Florida; and two great grand nephews, Dylan and Jayden Whinnery.  He will be missed by all his dear friends at Carroll Hills Workshop.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Jan. 18 at 11 a.m. in Carrollton Church of Christ Christian Disciples with Rev. Mike Doak officiating.  Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday from 4-6 p.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.
