Keith A. Abel
Keith A. Abel, 80, of Salineville Rd., Carrollton died Tuesday evening, Jan. 3, 2012, in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness.
Born Jan. 22, 1931, in Carrollton, he was a son of the late Paul and Ina Dotts Abel.
A 1949 graduate of Carrollton High School, he spent his entire life as a farmer operating his own family farm. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Carrollton, Carroll County Farm Bureau and AARP.
He is survived by his wife, the former Judy Miller, whom he married Jan. 8, 1983; two sons, Doug Abel and Darin (Brenda) Abel, both of Carrollton; three daughters, Denelle Smith and Denise (Gary) Teeter, both of Carrollton, and Darby (Rob) Sanderson of Columbus; three stepsons, Rodney Wilson and Randy Wilson, both of Arizona, and Rusty Wilson of Carrollton; a stepdaughter, Suzanne Graef of Dover; 10 grandchildren, Courtney Abel, Logan Smith, Tyler Teeter, Miles Teeter, Krysten Abel, Nicholas Abel, Marlo Sanderson, Avery Wilson, Sidney Wilson and Ashley Graef; and two great grandsons, Aiden Abel and Olin Teeter.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley in 1982; a stepson; and three brothers.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 7 at 1 p.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home in Carrollton with Rev. Dan Loomis officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery in Carrollton. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time. |
