Carl R. Leuschel
Carl R. Leuschel, age 61, of Carroll County, passed Nov. 29, 2011, in the Cleveland Clinic.
He was born Sept. 28, 1950, in St. Mary's, PA.
He served as a high school social studies teacher in the Parma City Schools' District, coaching both track and cross county during his tenure. He went on to be an owner/operator and commercial truck driver for 14 years.
In addition, he served as a board member for the Carroll County Board of Elections for 1 1/2 years, and on the Democratic Party Central and Executive Committees for three years. Carl received his bachelor's degree from Ohio University and his master's degree from Cleveland State University. Later he attended Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.
He is survived by two daughters, Erin and Kerry; his mother, Doris Leuschel; three brothers, Billy, Allan, and Joseph Leuschel; and three sisters, LuAnn Chabowski, Mary Anelli, and Linda Murphy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond L. Leuschel.
A celebration of Christian Mass will be Saturday, Dec. 10 at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Carrollton. Friends may call one hour before time of service at the church. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery in Carrollton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "Loaves and Fishes" in Carrollton or The American Cancer Society.
