Edgar McNabb, 80, of Montero Rd., Carrollton died early Wednesday morning, Oct. 24, 2012, in his home following a brief illness.
Born Feb. 19, 1932, in Raceland, KY, he was a son of the late Wickliffe E. and Vestal Mackie McNabb.
He was a retired executive director of the Alliance Chapter of the American Red Cross and was a Navy veteran.
In his spare time, Ed loved to sail and was an accomplished leather worker. He was an active tree farmer and a Ham Radio operator.
He was a member of Herrington Bethel United Methodist Church, Carroll Masonic Lodge #124, National Forestry Association, and National Rifle Association.
He is survived by his wife, the former Norma Gschwind, whom he married Aug. 30, 1956; a son, Jeffrey (Carla) McNabb of Carrollton; three daughters, Nancy (John) Martindale of North Canton, Lori (Nick) Simionides of Canton, and Susan (Jim) Ruff of Toledo; 14 grandchildren; one great grandson; and a brother, Louis McNabb of Worthington.
Funeral services will be held Oct. 27 at 12 p.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home in Carrollton with Pastor Lee Iden officiating. Interment will be in Herrington Bethel Cemetery.
