Donald E. McBride
Donald E. McBride, age 78, of Carrollton passed away Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, in Hospice House in New Philadelphia.
Born March 8, 1935, in Columbiana, he was a son of the late Harry Lincoln and Stella Mohr McBride.
He served as a captain in the Army, worked as a teacher and coach at Hopedale, Stanton Local, and Carrollton Schools; and was a principal at Carrollton, Columbiana, and Conotton Valley High Schools. His memberships included Carrollton First United Methodist Church, Carrollton Ruritans, and Pelicans Club. He was the first director of Goodwill in Carrollton.
He is survived by his wife, the former Janet Bowden; two daughters, Dawn (AJ) Molnar of Carrollton and Jill Rodriguez of Safety Harbor, FL; three granddaughters, Stacy (JJ) Molnar-Nitz of Carrollton, Ashley Molnar of Cleveland, and Cari Molnar of Akron; three great grandchildren, McKayla, Xander, and Jozelynn; and a brother, Charles (Diane) McBride of Northfield, OH.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Harry.
A memorial service will be held Nov. 7 at 8 p.m. in Carrollton First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until time of the service.
The family requests donations be made in Donald's name to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave. SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
Arrangements were under the care and guidance of Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home in Carrollton.
