Robert "Bob" Thompson
Robert "Bob" Thompson, age 60, of Minerva died Thursday Oct. 29, 2009, in Mercy Hospital following a short illness.
Born Oct. 2, 1949, in Canton, he was the son of Gloria (Ecrement) Thompson of Louisville and the late Robert Thompson.
He is a heavy equipment operator for Buckeye Industrial Mining of Lisbon, former owner/operator of Bob's Auto in Carrollton and formerly a heavy equipment operator for Ohio Coal. He graduated from Canton South High School and was an avid racer of R/C (Radio Controlled) cars.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Marylee (McAvoy) Thompson, who he married Sept. 9, 1983; three daughters, Robin (Edward) Evans of TX, Kelly (David) Homan of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Amanda (Jason) Fishel of Knoxville, TN; a sister, Linda Solomon of Canton and three grandchildren, Kyle Foster, Hailey Fishel and Mairyn Fishel.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Thompson.
Funeral services were held Nov. 2 in the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Kerry King officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc. |
