Glenn Bench
Glenn Bench, 70, of Carrollton passed away Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, in his residence.
Born May 16, 1939, in Carrollton, he was the son of Stephen and Una Ann (Smith) Bench.
He married Sue Elin Corfman April 5, 1969, and she passed away March 8, 1996. He was a truck driver for Cramblett Trucking, Inc. and was a member of Teamsters.
He is survived by three daughters, Tracy Bench of Gaffney, SC, Dixie (Gerry) Hawkins of New Philadelphia and Virginia (Brian) Batten of Dennison; one adopted daughter, Sherry Tarantino of Gaffney, SC; one brother, William Bench of South Shore, KY; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Bench of Rootstown; three grandchildren, Brooke and Brianna Hawkins, Emilie Batten and one grandchild expected in December; special friends, Jack and Rose Litten and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Grover Steven Bench and a sister, Harriett "PeeWee" Mayes.
Graveside services will be held Oct. 30 at 10 a.m. in Harlem Spring Cemetery. Visitation and a memorial service will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29 in Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home in Carrollton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Carroll County, 1040 Trump Rd, NW, Carrollton, 44615, in Glenn's memory. |
