Following retirement he worked for Trbovich Distributing.  He was a former Carroll County Mounted Deputy and a former Girl Scout Leader for Troup #431.

He cherished his family and enjoyed being outdoors.  Denny had a lifelong love and interest for creating, designing and fabricating steel, most recently with a computer controlled plasma torch.

He is survived by his wife, Marianne (Michel) Eick, with whom he celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary May 12, 2011; two daughters and a son-in-law, Corianne and Kenny Kocarek, of North Canton, and Janet Craven, of Carrollton; two sons, Paul and Robert Eick, both of Carrollton; three granddaughters, Sydney and Morgan Craven, and Jozee Eick, all of Carrollton; one sister, Patty Burnett, of Wooster, and one brother, Richard Eick, of Carrollton.

A private service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Fr. Joseph Zamary officiating.  Interment will be in Sandy Valley Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation of blood or platelets to Aultman Hospital, memorial contributions to either Cross Eyed Missions, PO Box 688, Waynesburg, OH 44688, or Apastic Anemia and MDS International Foundation (AA&MDSIF), 100 Park Ave., Suite 108, Rockville, MD 20850.
