Pearl E. Shawver
Pearl E. Shawver, age 88, of Scio passed away Wednesday morning, Sept. 12, 2012, in Carroll Golden Age Retreat.
Born July 24, 1924, in Cadiz, she was a daughter of the late James and Mary Stevens Mattern.
Pearl was a member of Perry Township Grange for 50 years, Carroll County Pomona Grange, and Perrysville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending her time planting flowers, gardening, and working on the family farm.
She is survived by her son, Daniel (Kathy) Shawver of Scio; three granddaughters, Wendy (Kevin) Davis of Carrollton, Kristy (Kevin) Tullis of Scio, and Dana (Jim) Gravett of Columbus; eight great grandchildren, Kyle and Kurt Davis, Kelsie and Kolby Tullis, Courtney, Jimmy, Ryan, and Chandler Gravett; and a sister, Elaine Moyer of Columbus.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis J. Shawver; three brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home with Rev. Gordon Warner officiating. Burial will follow in Perrysville Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of service.
