Glenn Lemoyne "Hoot Owl" Spahr
Glenn Lemoyne "Hoot Owl" Spahr, age 64, of Carrollton passed away Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center, Canton.
Born March 20, 1947, in Carrollton, he was a son of the late Jesse William and Helen Alberta (Pyles) Spahr.
He was a truck driver and an avid fisherman.
He is survived by a son, Mark A. Spahr of Sedrowolley, WA; three daughters, Sherry (Joe) Long of Scio, Shelly (James) Straight of Malvern and Nicole Spahr of Carrollton; six brothers, Robert (Janet) Spahr of Minerva, Richard (Elenna) Spahr of Sebring, Howard (Donna) Spahr of Carrollton, Paul (Barbara) Spahr of Denver, CO, and Gary (Beth) Spahr of Carrollton; two sisters, Marilyn (Donald) McLaughlin of Amsterdam and Linda (Richard) Boley of Carrollton; a sister-in-law, Connie Spahr; nine grandchildren, Joseph (Lauren) Long, Lindsay Long, Edward Straight, Tyler Straight, Mackenna Spahr, Madelynn Spahr, Emmerson Spahr, Alex Little and Brad Little; and two great granddaughters, Alexis Straight and Ellianna Long.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Sandra Kay Smarr, whom he married Aug. 12, 1967, and who passed away Sept. 8, 1997; a sister, Mary Hockenberry and a brother, George Spahr.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 9 at 1 p.m. in Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Baxters Ridge Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the funeral home. |
